This one is from Colombia’s Cauca region, and the result of a long standing program that we’re honored to bring to the US for the first time ever! The FNC (the National Coffee growers’ Federation) has been working for years with schools in rural parts of the Cauca department to teach students in all grades about coffee growing, processing, and roasting to provide them with the knowledge to earn a living away from the cartel violence that comes with the coca production that is so prevalent in the region. Older students are even given a planting of trees to manage themselves, earning money to use for higher education or quite often to purchase a farm of their own!
This program that has an outsized impact in coffee producing communities, and hope you enjoy this coffee as much as we do!
