Mayra's family has been involved in coffee for years, ever since she inherited a section of her father's farm, along with her siblings. Mayra's plot was the highest on the mountain, earning the name Alto el Vapor. As it happens, the high altitude on the remote peak makes the land ideal for growing coffee! For years the family had aspired to establish their own mill, and when her eldest daughter graduated from university in the height of the pandemic in 2020, and jobs were nowhere to be found, the family decided to come together and establish the Vamay micromill. We're thrilled to be able to support them, and to share this amazing coffee with you!
