The FNC (the National Coffee growers’ Federation) has been working for years with schools in rural parts of the Cauca department to teach students in all grades about coffee growing, processing, and roasting to provide them with the knowledge to earn a living away from the cartel violence that comes with the coca production that is so prevalent in the region.
