The Halo Hartume washing station is situated in a valley surrounded by the hills of Halo Hartume, where the coffee is grown. Like most of the area around Gedeb, the hills vary in altitude from 2000 to 2200 meters above sea level. Ato Mijane Worassa pays close attention to every detail, working alongside the 396 smallholders with the help of one of his sons to teach them about organic composting, proper picking, and the importance of shade trees.
Look for classic Yirgacheffe characteristics like delicate vanilla sweetness and jammy blueberry and peach, balanced with lemony acidity.
